Kelvin K. Gilchrist was born in Illinois. He holds several degrees including a Doctorate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. His degree is in Technology and Engineering. Now a retired professor of technology and engineering from Chicago State University he has combined a career in education with extensive research in ancient civilizations. He has published several articles on ancient technology, chronology, and the history of science and is the principle author of Inventions and Discoveries by People of Color: Prehistoric to Today.
